The UNDER_LINE Benefit Launch

On Tuesday, December 4th, Arts for Art will launch the Under_Line campaign with a special Benefit Event featuring world-renowned musicians and a visual presentation portraying the history of jazz within the lower east side. The Under_line campaign is focused on securing support to  create a space that will showcase visionary music and collaborative performances. It will mark the return of un-compromised music and creative expression to an area with a deep connection and heritage in music and cultural arts.

THE FUTURE OF MUSIC IN THE LOWER EAST SIDE

The Lower East Side has theaters, spaces for dance, museums and galleries.  The LES once supported multiple places where cutting edge music was performed. This is no longer true.

An affordable space for The Under_Line does exist. Clemente Soto Velez at 107 Suffolk Street has a large underground space, perfect to build a new venue for un-compromised music and dance.  We need the support and the will of the creative community behind us to make this happen.
