On Monday, January 20th, (Inauguration day and MLK day), from 12:00-5:30pm, Bob Holman (Bowery Poetry Club), Patricia Parker (Arts For Arts) and Marc Ribot (Music Workers Alliance) will present a ticketed free Anti-Inaugural event: “Exorcising ‘The Tyrant’”.
Readers will take turns reading the 133 sections of “The Descent of Alette”’, Alice Notley’s epic visionary poem about a woman who confronts and finally defeats “The Tyrant”…(plus Music/Dance performance interludes).
Participants will include Laurie Anderson, Anne Waldman, William Parker, Katrina Vanden Heuval, Patricia Nicholson, Bob Holman, Joan Jonas, Shahzad Ismailly, Marc Ribot, + many other poets, writers, journalists, artists, dancers and musicians TBA.
